Not my thing Nick, t'was the hound asking about 'action'

Did watch another very good film yesterday, The Man From Earth. As soon as l can figure out a review that doesnt spoil the plot l'll post it.

Ordered that from lovefilm the other day. Sounded good. Is it?  rubschin:

What did you think of it?

They havent sent it yet.  Maybe about Xmas time knowing Lovefilm. angry041:

A newspaper recently ran an offer on CDs and I have now the whole of the original BBC version of Brideshead.
I shall be watching this when the children return to school and Mrs S#2 returns to work  cloud9:

I've decided to make a vacuum flask of Green Tea, a plate of nibbles and watch one episode after another all day ~ cloud9: once I have the house to myself again.

Watched another film over the weekend, 30000 Leagues Under the Sea. A modern remake of the classic Jules Verne story. I was about 10 minutes into it before I realised that the whirring noise I could hear in the background was Verne spinning in his grave.

This film is bloody awful, the acting is insipid, the special effects dire and the less said about what the scriptwriters did with Nemo the better. I couldnt even make it to the end of the film and what I did watch is time I'll never get back.

For the benefit of Captain Calamity there is no nekkidness or fornication, at least there wasnt before I was forced to switch the rubbish off. Having said that the director must have been a right tit.

Try this : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0252480/

You may want to shoot yourself afterwards, but its a powerful, moving film.

Books wot I have read on holiday, so far:-

Odd Hours by Dean Koontz. Very good.

The Good Guy by Dean Koontz, also very good.

Broken by Moira someone - excellent gritty, London gangland, drug and prostitution book. Depressingly believable. Language to make a docker blush though.

Currently reading McMafia by Misha Glenny. Factual about the rise of global crime syndicates.
