Just finished listening to the Audible dramatisation of the William Gibson screenplay for Alien 3. All I have to say is why the hell didn't Fox use this for the film instead of choosing that godawful mess they ended up with instead.

shrugs:

Back when they were making Alien 3 there were a number of different screenplays in the running, Gibson's one was far superior to the utter shite they ended up with because it actually made sense as a follow on and would have spawned a far more interesting storyline going forward. Instead they went ahead and greenlit a film so bad that the director has publicly tried to remove himself from it afterwards.

Actually it's a candidate for 'the list'.  A daft but amusing premise
Well, whatever, nevermind

This is showing next Sunday and it looks interesting, as long as I'm not working I think I'll have a wander down.

Already booked a day off and a ticket for this later on in the year.

I've wanted to see the Ride of the Valkyries scene on a big screen since I first saw this as a kid.  cloud9:

I went to see it at the cinema for that scene - I was supposed to be watching a girlfriend in a stage show at the time...  redface:

To be honest, I wished afters that I'd watched the girlfriend...  noooo:
