Do you two want us to start saving milk bottle tops or is this a Ray Charles lookalike competition?

http://www.apple.com/trailers/paramount/gijoeriseofcobra/

Saw this yesterday. Lots of fun, wall to wall action. Zero points for dialogue, acting (apart from a former Doctor Who), character development, originality etc. Special effects varied between top notch and shite.

All in all, wait for the DVD.

Possibly.

But is was OK. From a technical point of view like.

The DVD will give the interested an insight into how the (sometimes stunning) visuals were achieved as well as giving the interested info on how some of the not so stunning visuals were achieved.

The DVD will no doubt contain minutes of lies of the actors gushing about each others talents.

For the record the acting honours are stolen by a former Doctor Who and Jonathan Pryce who hopefully were in the pub when the 'Making of..' DVD was made.

But still well worth a couple of quid on DVD rental like. Ish. Prolly. Like.

Urgent gift idea required.....

I have a Christening to go to this afternoon - full Roman Catholic Baptism service  eeek:  for a babby.

I have no idea what to take....I already bought presents and that when baby was born. I am not doing silver spoon , photo frame junk. Looking likely to be vouchers but that is a bit uninventive ( is that a word ?)

Any suggestions ?

Get On Line and Apply for a savings bond (depends on how much you want to spend really) but you can arrange for the bond to be posted to parents and print off the receipt and give it in an envelope with card. ~ Shows more thought than money or gift token. Prolly cost you about £100

Alternatively a children's bible ~ WH Smith do some nice boxed ones specifically for Christenings and since it looks like the child is going to be raised RC (some may say brainwashed) it will get used. Prolly cost you under £50 for a leather bound one or less for a cheaper binding. A suitable inscription in your own fair hand showing the date of the event and your signature (if legible) makes this a unique gift.
