Converting your old LP’s to MP3 files

Anybody done this?

I’ve just set-up my old record deck, configured an amp and copied to the PC using a couple of cheap utilities. Works remarkably well actually…  cloud9:

I did a few old LP's last year. IIRC, I used a program called "Audacity", some of ther recordings came out quite well, but when I tried to be clever taking out some of the "crackle" it didn't work to well
