I am pleased to report that our proper local pub is decked in flags and is having a special lunch later.Various local porkers are dressing up as John Bull and the like. May try to get some pics! lol:

I'm with the school of thought that says dump St George who was a foreign bugger (if he even existed) and get Edward the confessor back in to do the job. He did a perfectly good job until some bugger changed it (Edward 3rd was it? Bastard). Always turned up on time etc.

Pious bugger and you can even visit his grave at westminster abbey.  happy088

I suspect most saints are foreign in one way or another ( rubschin:). Mind you there is a school in Liverpool called after St Julie eeek:

I dimly recall that hte last Pope had a sort of Saints clearout. Got rid of lots.

How does that work then?

I had a very odd experience with him and Roger McGough once (though not in my kitchen I hasten to add). It concerned a redhead eyes:
