Terror revolt rocks Gordon Brown
« on: April 13, 2008, 07:40:59 AM »
Quote from: Sunday Times
GORDON BROWN is facing a cabinet revolt over controversial new terror laws amid concern in the government about an unprecedented collapse in his authority.

Brown’s personal rating has plunged further and faster than any other British leader since political polling began in the 1930s, a new poll for The Sunday Times reveals.

The double blow came as the prime minister’s allies moved to quash speculation that his plummeting popularity could prompt a plot to remove him from office.

It must be the beginning of the end… surely…  whistle:

Isn't it amazing that, just by coincidence, the Home Secretary comes out with these stats in a News of the Worlds Interview today.

Jacqui Smith said 30 terror plots were being investigated and police needed to be able to detain suspects for longer.

Lying b@st@rds all of them.

Just an afterthought ~ since when was the NotW the paper of choice for serious political figures to make their pronouncements in? Wassup Jaqui, wouldn't the serious papers listen to you dear?

I think with Gordon Brown, what you've got is a pretty serious person who thinks very deeply about decisions and is also a man of conviction

Communities Secretary

We can but hope....

...oh, she said a man OF conviction. Bugger, thought it was too good to be true.  Banghead

The universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements. Energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest.
