If nothing else the protests might stop them carting the bloody thing all round the planet in future…  noooo:

I notice none of them that would normally have you unplug your telly lest a polar bear’s house melts has complained about how ludicrously environmentally unfriendly the whole charade is?  Banghead

Agreed, make them walk it round the world.

If one of our lot starts now they should just be back in time for 2012.

I see that the attempted grab of the torch from the Blue Peter girl has made it onto Shanghai TV.

They have it on "You've Been Flamed" with Hally Hill.  redface:

I know, it should have been Hally Hirr, but it just looked wrong

I notice that China is adamant that they are going to carry the bloody thing all over the world with Tibet being the last country they visit before heading home.

That is going to be an interesting leg......

All these protesters but I would bet that every last one of them has something in their homes with 'made in China' on it.

I said that to Mrs C on Sunday

re: the torch being lit the whole time. I think its the flame itself that has to stay lit, so before they extinguish the torch they "transfer" the flame to another implement. I think. Not too sure but I did wonder the same thing....
