And too common as well I'm afraid. Look at this one. a 15 year old girl who binged on alcohol and cocaine kills a new mother by stabbing her to death, not a single stab wound either this was repeated slashing of the victim by this evil drunken bitch. Granted 15 years is a steeper sentence but she's still young enough to have a life afterwards.

Quote
A teenage girl who stabbed a young mother to death after bingeing on alcohol and cocaine has been sentenced to life in jail.

Jordan Jobson, 15, repeatedly slashed Samantha Madgin when two groups of youngsters clashed in an alley in Wallsend, North Tyneside, last August.

Ms Madgin, 18, had given birth to her son Callum just 10 weeks earlier.

Jobson, who drank lager, vodka and took lines of cocaine before the attack, was given a minimum term of 15 years.

She had admitted manslaughter but was found guilty of murder at Newcastle Crown Court on 3 March.

The teenager, of Holywell Avenue, Walker, told the jury she had armed herself with a kitchen knife and went outside to pull friends away from the argument, but did not intend to hurt or kill Ms Madgin.

However, the prosecution claimed it was the young mother who tried to stop the argument.

Ms Madgin, who gave birth to son Callum in May, suffered 10 stab wounds - one to her face, six to her arms and three to her chest.

Jobson drank six cans of lager, three pints of vodka and cola and took up to eight lines of cocaine before the attack, the court heard.

In sentencing, Judge David Hodson warned of the dangers of combining alcohol and drugs.

Four men admitted affray charges in relation to the fracas and a woman admitted assisting an offender.

They received sentences ranging from community orders to 18 months imprisonment.

Det Ch Insp Mick Paterson, who led the Northumbria Police investigation, said: "These sentences reflect the severity of the case.

"However, no amount of custody can ever bring Samantha back and our thoughts remain with her family at this time.

"I would echo the comments of the judge of the danger of mixing alcohol and drugs. When this is combined with carrying a knife it can have lethal consequences."
