To get that over rated Sea Harrier with its then at best 2nd rate radar to be such an effective fighting machine was a huge feat.

Damn was just listening to him narrate his books again. I'd seriously recommend the audiobook, I don't know if he narrated them or whether he was recording his memoirs and they were the basis of the book but because he recorded it at home and you can hear think like the occasional fog barking in the background it feels less like an audiobook and more like your grandad telling stories of his time in the service.  He was heavily involved in the development of the sea harrier from nearly the get go and strongly believed in how effective it could be.
