To be honest a couple of times in the past I’ve had trouble re-installing XP 9after system crashes, etc.) and it has refused to let me re-register. You then have to call Micro$oft and explain before they give you a new code…

There are some, but not many, copies of windows software that are vendor specific and refuse to install on another manufacturers equipment.

Iv'e never had to do that with MS and now it's not a problem as we are on volume licensing.

It works. Change over successfully completed. I am now going to see if I can get my email working on this Lap-top. Fingers Crossed.
