Every time a story like this comes up I can't help wondering just how many other members of the government are guilty of similar practices....

Is there such a thing as an honest politician? Every day I seem to read or hear about politicians ripping off the system, every one of them should be culled. Bring back Diogenes and I will show him where to shove his lantern  cussing:

I'd feel cheated if my MP wasn't into some sort of dodgy deal or practise

It would seem that no one in this country grows up wanting to be a politician for purely altruistic reasons....and there does not seem to be much difference between the politicians of this country and their counterparts on the African continent. Politically we have become a third world nation

Gordon Brown has given his backing to under-fire Peter Hain, but said the minister's fate is out of his hands.

I love this quote from today's Indy

Quote
Hain has 'no immediate plans' to pay Labour £16,000 he owes
By Oliver Duff
Published: 15 January 2008

The prolonged failure by Parliament's Tango amnesiac, Peter Hain, to declare £103,000 of donations, has not only riled the Electoral Commission. It has also nobbled the work of his own party.

I'm not so sure that is the case, I just think that those of us who would want to be MP's for the right reasons have realised that we wouldnt stand a hope in hell of getting elected as we have the principles not to use questionable methods to get into office.

Let us not forget that this "incompetent" has been put in charge of pensions. 48 hours?
