Funny things in the post from Dorset !
« on: October 19, 2007, 10:13:41 AM »
Today we have received two Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre adoption certificates  eeek:

BM apparently has adopted 'LULU' who is allegedly a female chimp that arrived at Monkey World on the 14/10/00 estimated to have been originally born during 1992. It states that she was born in a circus travelling through Cyprus when her mother attacked her and bit her arm. Lulu's arm became infected and a Cypriot family saved her life by taking her home and getting their doctor (not vet) to amputate the poisonus limb. She it states gets along very well without her right arm so much so that most people do not realize that she is missing the arm. But do the other monkeys notice I wonder  ::)

My adopted primate is apparently named 'SALLY' another female chimp who was allegedly used as a photographer's prop in Spain, arriving at Monkey World on 10/11/93 and estimated to have been originally born during 1989. It states that Sally was moved to the nursery on 15/04/05 and proved to be a very good and caring adoptive mother for the many babies they have rescued. Sally is they say a very good role model for the younger chimps and encourages them to play outside. Her personality is adventurous and mischievous. Whilst most chimps dislike water, Sally often plays and bathes in the pool during the summer  eeek:

WHAT?
WHY?
WHO?

I think it may be an early Christmas present from BM's sister but my mind now boggles  noooo:
If it is has BM's sister matched the chimps to our own personalities?
How did she know about the recent escaped in the wood with Wenchy and poor BM's loss of limb?
Why does mine reference playing in pools and mischievous personality, is this a piss take of my earlier accident this year due to combination of pool and champayne cocktails?

I am sure it is a very worthwhile cause  ::) but a laminated photo of a chimp each (one armed in the case of BM's) wasn't high on my Christmas wish list to be honest  noooo:

Additionally, as part of the package, we also apparently have a one year FREE ENTRY pass to the Ape Rescue Centre which as it is located Nr. Wareham, Dorset is going to be VERY handy  noooo:

AND to add in this case further insult to the injury each one year FREE ENTRY pass denotes the persons status category as SENIOR CITIZEN. I know we're both trundling on but currently BM is still 18 years off this milestone with me a slightly less 13 years off the same

Me thinks family relations might become a tad strained from here on in and I welcome advice and suggestions on what totally useless and naff retaliatory gift I can subscribe to send back  eyes:

We found this appropriate for a couple of people last year.  redface:

Great - thanks for that advice!

I would like to send the 'build a bog option' having received such a shite pressie ourselves  whistle:
The 'goat' option also looks good and if I'm feeling a bit mean nearer to the time perhaps I could send one of the many that roam around here and ask her to post it on  eyes:

Goats are good

Mostly yes, friendly and only slightly smelly at times.
However when they get into the beer garden and eat my trees and plants they are BAD BAD NAUGHTY GOATS - thats why we have you oh trusted Beagle, to be on patrol and keep them out  eyes:

eeek: I may have spawned a monster .... The littlest has announced this morning that he wants to visit Yetminster whilst we are in Dorset. My fault I suppose for playing a Yetties CD last evening. He loved it.

All together now ~ OOooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh ~ Dorset is Beautiful, Dorset is grand.

He went off to school singing it.
