Will conundrum

Saw solicitor yesterday about new will.

She asked about beneficiaries.i said the main one was The Boy.

She asked where the money would go if he died before me,…..

 

This hadn’t occurred to me so I said I’d think about it.

I’m thinking but stumped

It's complicated.  Some solicitors say it automatically goes to who he names in his will (or intestate distribution) some say not.  My solicitor said one thing one day when I was administering an estate so I put in place a variation and then she said 'might not need it'

I suggest specifically add in something to cover any children he might have.

FWIW my will names a whole stack of relatives should Mrs K not survive me and then some charities so if they all die off first then the charities get a bigger and bigger share.

Not that I'll be caring much once I'm dead.
