Eeek!

So a little while back there I was smug at spending £19.99 for a replacement laptop charger when Microsoft wanted £100+

Today an email floods in from Amazon:  'the following risk: electric shock'  eeek:

And a link to the gov website that says:

'The product presents a serious risk of electric shock due to its poor mechanical strength and inadequate creepage distances. When impact tests were performed, the plastic casing broke open giving users access to live parts. As the product has a creepage distance of 0mm, if a user were to touch the accessible live parts, they could receive an electric shock. There was no user manual or instructions provided with the product and the CE marking was under the required size of 5mm. The product was also missing some of the required documentation and markings.'

I have to say 'it's complete shit and could kill you' would have covered the point a tad more concisely.

But what's the biggest surprise?

- that it is complete shit?
- that Amazon promptly told me and will fully refund?
- that I'm still using it until I can get a replacement?

Well, whatever, nevermind
