We have a close friend that was rushed into hospital two weeks ago...

He needed blood and everybody we knew of the same group turned up and donated.

Yesterday he was well enough to start some form of treatment but he tested positive for Covid (obviously caught in horsepickle) so all options are now off...  noooo:

Why impossible to attend?  Thought funerals were OK

Probably good that she's in a nursing home though even though the whole situation isn't a good one

Funeral is a four hour drive (each way from here) Hard to stay overnight. Whatever happens will be grisly without contact as we shall just have to stare at each other from a distance.  His daughters both have Covid in the house and my niece will not leave the safety of the Orkneys, so it would just be me and my sister  noooo:

Update: Big Sis has asked me to attend the funeral as otherwise it will only be her there! Strict instructions not to tell Pink Sis (feud)

Funeral is at 11.00 a.m., so rather an early start.

Date (Jan 21) coincides with next Willycam (sod's law) so happy to cancel that.

Gets black suit from cleaners.....

Just spoke to Big Sis who is still a bit addled, but going home tomorrow.

Asked her about her live in carer (who is arriving at 11.06 apparently!)

Her name is Jenny. She will do all the cooking, cleaning, bathing, dressing and so on. Trained nurse and trained bereavement counsellor  :thumbsup:

Me: Have you met her?
Sis: No,, but I have a pic, she is a negro

 facepalm: facepalm:

Me: FFS, don't say that! Her name is Jenny
