Times Most Influencial people on the internet 2019 list
« on: July 18, 2019, 11:13:43 AM »
Maybe I'm just getting old but I remember a time when the Time's most influential lists used to have true giants of politics, industry, science and entertainment in them, how the hell has it come to this.

https://time.com/5626827/the-25-most-influential-people-on-the-internet/

Ok there a large number on the list who I've never heard of but given the amount of views they have had on Youtube and Twitch I can see why they would be included. There are 2 I have a real problem with though.

AOC? Influential? Sure, if you work on the basis that any moron who makes enough noise can cause problems just look at the Amazon deal. Doesn't matter that it would have given NY millions in tax revenue that it desperately needs to update its infrastructure not to mention bringing thousands of jobs to the city. Cortez set the activists loose to kill the deal because didn't like it for reasons that only highlight her complete incompetence, not to mention that she still believes that tax breaks and accounting errors are real money that can be invested into other areas. The less said about her Green New Deal and concentration camps rhetoric the better. Then there is her rabid defence of the clearly anti semitic comments made by Ilhan Omar. Hell she doesn't even have a true mandate because she and her handlers used the primarying trick to get her into office, only around 15k people voted for her.

Carlos Maza? Are you fucking kidding me? That mealy mouthed 2 hypocritical faced champagne socialist antifa defending gobshite is only considered influencial because the mainstream media took the opportunity to make him a figurehead and cause the second adpocalypse on Youtube after he whined about Steven Crowder, despite (a)that Youtube themselves said Crowder hadn't broken any of their rules and (b)Maza had been attacking crowder every opportunity he had.

The universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements. Energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest.

AOC and the other 3 horsewomen of the apocalypse are going to destroy the Democrats and Trump knows it. While I don't condone what he said I'm pretty sure that the only reason he made the go back to their own country comment is to get the party to rally around them as the infighting would have ultimately pushed them out and gained them more of the swing voters when the Dems move back to a sensible moderate position. As things stand other than either Yang or Gabbard (both of whom mysteriously had mic issues during the first debate) the other presidential candidates are moving so far to the left that it seems only a matter of time before they try and rename the party Democratic Socialists.

Yes I reckon The Trumpster has been very clever here. He has pushed them into the middle of the stage with their bizarre beliefs and the Dems have to support them!  Thumbs:

I don't think he's going to have to do that much in all honesty, they are doing most of it for him. Omar and Tlaib called Trump a racist and then introduced a resolution aimed at supporting the antisemitic Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which targets Israel.  noooo:

Exactly

Although Pelosi has tended to disown them

As for that list it’s more a testament that so many people are so easily influenced including Time magazine
Well, whatever, nevermind
