Car leasing
« on: January 02, 2019, 04:39:04 PM »
Jim will cost £1100 to fix. I can lease a new car for £103 a month (incl VAT). He will cost more in the future and I can add servicing to the lease vehicle for £24. What do we think??

I think alas poor Jim you knew him well

Leasing always looks a good deal but I've never done it.  £127 a month including servicing and VAT sounds a very good deal as long as it isn't for a Noddy car
Well, whatever, nevermind

Sounds good but what penalties are there for cuts and bruises when you return it at the end of the contract?   rubschin:

Cuts and bruises? I think you are being optimistic given that Nick is the only person I've ever heard of who has managed to accidentally destroy their car seat with a lawnmower.  noooo:

We are just trying to help Nick, the chances of any deposit you leave for the car making it's way back into your wallet at the end of the lease are slim to none...  angel1

There may be a cheaper option though, did any of those colleges that you've previously worked at (and still have good relations with) have auto mechanic courses. See if they can use Jim as a demonstration model for a class. A couple of people I know have been able to do that in the past and saved an absolute fortune as they only paid for the parts.

Lease the most 'spensive car they have on a 3 year contract and you won't have to make any payments after the first few months like...
