SLap some tarmac on it, you say?

Bung some cement in the holes...?  rubschin:

Could that work? Pump out the water deposits and fill the voids with concrete in order to increase the ground strength.  rubschin:

In a sane world they would surely start pumping water out like TODAY and see if it helps...

...but the pipes and stuff would apparently cost €20M - god knows why - so it isn't happening anytime soon...  noooo:
Is there anyone in local or national government in Cyprus that could actually organise a piss up in a brewery?

 noooo:

Given just how seismically active Cyprus is you'd think that even an idiot would be able to pull their head out of their arse and do something. If the ground strength is that compromised all it's going to take is one strong earthquake nearby for a catastrophe.  noooo:

Tis all about who pays...

At the moment it is convenient to blame a handful of expats for buying from dodgy builders...  ::)

Until somebody dies obvs.

Haven't any of them thought to try for funding from the EU?

Theoretically the EU should spunk cash all over it but.... Shrugs:

Maybe they can't fund anyone in the Cyprus gubberment they'd trust with a brass farthing, maybe no official can be found to fill out the forms as the boxes are too small when using crayon

Well, whatever, nevermind

They closed the road!  eeek:

Nah, not really... one of their signs says 'Road Closed' and the other says 'Roadworks'... one at each end of the road... ::)

Looks like the slippage broke a water pipe... and that they'll just replace the pavement with compacted gravel - will save time the next time it happens...  ;)

As expected, they've just replaced the paving slabs with gravel - They obviously couldn't find anybody brave enough to drive a roller over it!  lol:

Meanwhile...
