Miss I's Grandma's birthday

Three years ago on May 9th Miss I was cross with herself. Her Grandma's birthday is May 8th, but every year she forgets it and has to call on the 9th to apologise.

For some reason, I have retained the information and, as we run up to May 8th, I send her a series of reminders.

Each day she replies, saying thanks but that she will still forget it   

I can barely recall my sisters' birthdays, so why am I forever doomed to recall the birthday of someone I have never met??

The Man's is rubbish in most areas ...but engaged in a conversation with the lads he can recall the score of a game  ( standard league not even special like a final or anyfink ) from 1982 !!!! How the feck does that work  ?

I can still remember the phone numbers of friends from 50+ years ago.
This is in neat contrast with the fact that I frequently can't recall their names.
