Somehow I'm guessing you had a ride in that whirlychopper

No, not yet, on over the glacier on the South Island...

I was tempted tho - they had a Long Ranger and a R44 doing sightseeing tours... would have obviously taken the turbine option!

Please keep posting them, they really are very good and fun to look through.

What camera are you using?

It is a Panasonic DMC-FZ300 'bridge' camera...
Ta

It's damn good

Tar!

I used to have a 'proper' DSLR - a Sony Alpha with a collection of lenses bu anted something longer...

A Sony zoom lens of ~300mm cost ££££££s but while looking I stumbled across 'super zoom' bridge cameras... So I sold the Sony and all the lenses to pay for this.

The lens on this thing is sensational, f2.8 throughout the entire zoom range!

I never pint anything bigger that A4 so the reduced sensor size (from a DSLR) has never affected me...

The only problem is that is is so capable I tend to leave it on 'P' and let it do its stuff - when it comes to Shutter Priority for moving chopper blades and water, etc. I'm like, err....  redface:

  same here.  Just can't see DSLRs have any place except where you need one of those really big telephotos that sports photographers use.  But then look at your Aussie Rules pics, they were great too
