How to steal a Mercedes (and others)
« on: November 27, 2017, 10:57:51 AM »
scared2:  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-42132804/relay-crime-theft-caught-on-camera.  Will almost certainly work on other keyless cars too

And happily for Mercs there is a fix:  http://assets.mbusa.com/vcm/CAC_RAPMD/Disablekeylessgo.pdf

Now researching the fix for Mrs K's keyless entry car

Ideally I'd find a way to have whoever makes those relay boxes strapped to the rails at their nearest station.  Just so all their friends can see them diced
Well, whatever, nevermind

Mercs have always been the easiest car to nick .....a triangle shaped tool was used in the 90's ..if you used it in passenger side door ..it turned off the alarm system ..to start the car ..near the battery is a "connection" block ..put any wire on the blue to the gray and the car would start ......

Ah also when the introduced airbags ...it was possible (but difficult ) to hit a part of the front bumper which would un-lock the car without the air-bags going off ...

SO I WAS TOLD........

noooo:  that was well meaning Ford with their sporty Escorts

But it's always the same basic issue with security systems.  One person (often a JAFA*)designs the basis of them and there's a million bastards out there working out how to beat them
