Glad I abandoned my trip up the 'BIG 'ill' now.

Just spoken to GROWLER Snr. jnr., and he tells me that the bloody Peny Pass car park was already full ffs!
Full of bearded khaki shorts wearing cucumber butty munching old turnips with their bloody mobile sat nav systems strapped around their necks.

Shouldn't they all be shopping for wooly brown zip up cardigans at the 'save the whale' charity shops? ::)

I did warn you ~ but would you listen? Oh No!  ::)

If you want a good walk, that will test you and give you all the peace, peace and quiet you crave try Cadr Idris.
Its not far from Snowdon, is almost as high and is beautiful. It can also be very dangerous so go with proper kit and a fully charged mobile.

You DIDN'T warn me that the car park was going to be full of old mountain climbing motorised zimmer frame users, and you DIDN't warn me that the weather was going to be shite either....DID YOU!

I shall however take up your suggestion of climbing Cadraidris shortly.

The mists on Cadr Idris are, apparently, very quick to form and can last a long time. There is little shelter and it is little used by the geriatrics. In fact few people except serious walkers attempt it. Exposure etc can be a major problem hence my warning to go properly equipped.
If you do go for it, please go careful ~ I don't want you on my conscience.

Could do with one myself right now .... Lord knows what they put in my eyes but it is still stinging 3 hours later and my pupils are huge but I can hardly see. Have to wear dark glasses (fortunately I do have prescription sun glasses) which means I am a bit Mozo like whilst looking at the screen. I'll sign off in a minute and have a lie down I think.

Isn't this the home of the 'Devils Kitchen'? rubschin:

It looks familiar. I'm sure this is were i took Mrs GROWLER out on a date in those 'uninformed years'.
IIRC we scrambled half way up and she suddenly 'froze'. eeek:
" I can't go any further, it's too dangerous" she exclaimed. ::)

She looked back as to from where we'd just come from, and then stated that she "couldn't go back that way either" whistle:

If it wasn't for the fact that I really am just a big pussy cat at 'eart, she'd probably be still there now.
