Why hasn't this been invented????

I have just had one of those days at work when I feel I have done well to keep a civil tongue in my head 

I have come home (via scaling the back fence ) , finished off some work, had a long soak in the bath, a natter on the phone and then went to make some food.

........Only to find that I had not closed the fridge freezer door last night (after craving ice cream - a sure sign that I am being punished for my sins). So I now have lots of mush and whats worse the rest of the ice cream is not edible 

Why oh why oh why cannot there be a little alarm or other annoying sound that goes off (like the phone when it hasn't been put back properly) when the door has not closed properly.

Anyone for slops?

Both my Fridge and Freezer doors each has a little buzzer that does just that. But then we do have one of those huge "American" side by side jobbies that does everything except serve the meal. Cost a fortune but worth it when you remember there are five of us.
We also have a mega freezer in the garage ~ but then my brother is a butcher so meat tends to be "purchased" in bulk. The garage freezer does not buzz or bleep and has been known to defrost when someone has left the door open. I claimed on the insurance for the food and got a cheque for £150 which was far more than it cost for my brother to refill it.

Then why can't this just be a standard feature ??

I am not too bothered about the loss of meat (do chicken nuggets count as meat  ) - it is my Hageen Dazs that
is irreplaceable

Phew ~ thought I would be accused of willy waving there.
Don't know why more Freezers don't have these buzzers, the technology cannot cost much.
It's also got a visual display of a little door that lights up in green as soon as the door is opened, even a little way. Presumably for the deaf. 

Mind you the buzzer does tip me off when the kids are "fridge raiding"
