Well intentioned but unwise and possibly illegal in its own right IMHO

AFAIK making xenophobic comments is not against the law per se.  As for racist comments that are illegal there are better ways to deal with those.

They're panicing because the anti-UKIP smear campaigns appear to have backfired rather spectacularly!

The more they smear UKIP the more support it seems to get - at a guess because the great unwashed public that the pols hold in such contempt can see through the lies etc and have finally turned on them.
