Public 'support pay-as-you-throw'

Almost two-thirds of people would support a "pay-as-you-throw" system of collecting household waste, a Local Government Association survey suggests.

 

How convenient! But why would householders agree to pay extra for having their rubbish removed? 

Oh, here we go...

Its poll of 1,028 people found 64% in favour of lower council tax and charges according to how much rubbish they left, with recyclers paying less.

Ah... a little biased then? I wonder how many of those polled actually believed that council tax would be reduced?

See, if I truly believed that it would work out cheaper I would do it. However, it won't and it will just lead to further random tipping as people attempt to get out of having to pay anything. Another grant for the jobless and feckless to claim for.
