Now we have all had to work for a boss at some time ... even Growler.... and some of them have been horrendous whilst others truly fair , supportive and rarely inspirational.

I know who my best boss has been. My current boss however is doing my tweeny tiny little head in. Muddied by friendship,  my knowing she is having an affair with the director, my knowing she is going through The Change etc doesn't excuse her current behaviour.

She is being vile to everyone,  then asks me to tell her if she is being out of order.  Treading a very fine line I have to say I think she is showing signs of stress.  What do you get back ......loads more feckin work to do as she needs to soet out her work /life balance !!!!

OK serious answer:  you can never be friends with the boss, just does not work.  Settle for getting on well with them.  A cunning tactic is to work out what is their favourite pet topic for boring others with and move difficult conversations onto that topic.

Bosses aren't all evil though.
