Why not make the whole plane out of the stuff they make the black box out of .....they always survive .....

Absolutely astonishing that it survived for 4 years at a depth of 12,000feet too.
The pressure down there is horrendous, not to mention the impact and corrosive sea water.

I felt a bit guilty watching it tbh, as it's a sort of morbid curiosity, but it was absolutely rivetting to see how the story unfolded.
All because of the 'thingy' (forget the name of it now) that points forward just under the cockpit to guage the speed.
It had frozen up during a brief ice storm, but would have cleared within a couple of minutes apparently, and certainly wasn't affecting the performance of the aircraft.
