http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g190384-d292169-Reviews-Roman_Hotel-Paphos_Paphos_District.html rubschin:

This is the strangest hotel I have ever stayed in! The decor, murals of Greek & Roman mythology or full length mirrors (very confusing) covering every available area of wall space. Pity that the decorators didn't know when to stop because they stippled doors, furniture, bathroom tiles, toilet cystern and pan; even the poor old pool table didn't escape!
On a more serious note, once you have got your head around the decor, this hotel did not live up to the description or the photos. To start with the swimming pool was not available and, apart from breakfast, the restaurant was closed, neither of which we had been informed of.
The hotel is situated within ten minutes of the harbour and sea front and is close to the archaeological sites and there is a reasonable choice of restaurants and bars within walking distance which is just as well! The breakfast was Ok although the cooked food was uninviting as it had been kept warm for too long.
The building design is a bit of a rabbit warren and I was concerned by the lack of adequate signage for fire exits, something I check out at every hotel I stay at.
Our room was quite spacious with plenty of storage and was clean but it wasn't a double, just twin beds pushed together. There was always plenty of hot water but the bathroom didn't have any obvious extractor unit and each day when we returned the whole room was filled with an overpowering sulphurous smell and we had to open the balcony doors for fresh air. The tiles on the balcony had a layer of encrusted dirt and had not been swept or washed for ages.
The description talks of a garden and although our room overlooked it, I never managed to find any access to it and it appeared to be overgrown. the potted plants around the pool area looked very neglected.
The internet service was 5 euros for 90 minutes so we didn't bother and bar prices were twice those of the local bars so.........
The staff that we had contact with were all very friendly and helpful but the place appeared to be run on a shoe string and was in need of some TLC. It would add greatly to guests comfort if rooms were provided with tea/coffee facilities or even bottled water.
All in all it was rather disappointing and became just somewhere to crash rather than a part of the holiday to be enjoyed.

It is strange there ....they also rent by the hour .... noooo:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2335511/Singapore-Airlines-passengers-left-surrounded-chaotic-flight-mess-turbulence-hit-jet-dinner.html

Watched that documentary last night on the doomed Air France flight that fell into the Atlantic 4 years ago. eeek:

Horrendous incompitance by the flight crew was the cause. One trying to raise the nose, while the other one was trying to lower it to get out of the stall. noooo:

Very sad to watch

Indeed.  Most accidents have a root cause in stupidity/complacency.  I was impressed that they put so much effort into getting the black boxes back to find out

Oh and cracking link Apey

Well, whatever, nevermind

scared2:

Flight crews have been intensively re-trained now as to how to actually FLY and control things when they go wrong.
Problem is/was that these modern planes just fly themselves....until something goes wrong.

The co-pilot was merely doing a normal human reaction trying to gain height, when in fact that was the worst thing possible.

By the time the actuall captain was summonsed and realised what needed to be done, it was too late (at 2000ft)

They found the black box on the sea bed after 4 years of searching at 12,000 ft down.
That in itself was incredible. eeek:

You watch it too steve?
