Alison tells me she is chasing solicitors and has made an offer on a place in Essex to be there in time for her new job starting in mid August.

Uncle and Boogs are right I think.  However moving to a new area, starting a new job caring for two dazed and reeling boys who are moving away from lifelong friends and starting a new school is one hell of a load to be carrying.

Please tell her that there are a lot of people wishing her all the very best and rooting for her.

I have always thought that the worst thing about drowning was having to call 'help!' You must look such a fool. It's put me against drowning.

Alison had been to the interview for the new job before M died and they'd talked about it all, so the nice thing is that she knows it is a move he was hoping to make.  It will bring them a bit nearer to me, our mother and brother too, which I know our mother is relieved about.

Many thanks for your concern and good wishes, everyone.
