All bollocks as BM says I am a heavy smoker but show consideration ( unless some tosser tuts ) , never iin other peoples cars/house .if people are eating nearby etc ....

I am a smoker too not heavy these days but like you Apey always show consideration for other people..
But this whole issue has got out of hand..
Even when you smoke in designated areas outside people look at you as if you are scum, I have to say at times it is tempting to act like it just to annoy .. It can be very intimidating tho I have to admit it makes me more determined to do it..
It has even gone as far at werk of insisting that e-cigs can only been used in the smoking shelters, not in the open air WTF is that all about...

They brought that rule in recently at our place, so those trying to stop smoking have to go to the designated smoking area with the smokers 

Same at last weekends rugby at the Etihad stadium, 6 -7hr's rugby each day, but if you wanted to use your e-cig, you had to go out with the "proper" smokers

Smoking is blamed for an awful lot of things it probably doesn't cause. But it is good to blame it as the gubberment can then tax it more heavily - "for your own good".

What DOES cause lung cancer is diesel fumes.  And we all breathe those fumes day in, day out to a greater or lesser extent.  So if the gubberment are really concerned about the health of us all, they should start by banning diesel.

Can anyone explain to me why you can't 'ave a snout on a OUTDOOR, UNENCLOSED staion platform btw?

I came within a whisker of getting meself into a whole load of trouble at Venice railway station a couple of years ago, and i wasn't even smoking FFS!
I was merely rolling a fag on their premises to smoke outside the station.

Major row erupted and I got into a lot of hot water with officialdom, not helped by the language barrier, thus me ending up having to get my point across by the use of hand signals.
All very embarrasing, with crowds stopping to watch whilst I was dragged away shouting my protests  by the Growler collective.

Wasn't talked to for 24 hours, and all because 'this troublemaker'   DARED to roll a fag.
