A mate of mine has a mortgage with Alpha Bank. They wrote a letter to him earlier in the year stating "I these difficult times we have decided to give you a holiday period from paying your mortgage......until October 2013".  Thumbs:

They must have changed their mind as each WEEK he puts his pay check into his account they take a mortgage payment leaving him broke.  noooo:

The main telephony company (Cyta) has just sent us a SMS offering free calls & texts on Sundays and 25% off subscription fees for all phones and Internet connections...

Terms and conditions apply of course... ::)

Heard a rumour that the shops can now open on Wednesday afternoons and Sundays now ...new law passed ........to help the economy .......

Well here's a suggestion how about the government working past 1 pm ...... cussing:

And while I welcome longer and more sensible opening ours, what are people going to spend in them in times of recession with the gubberment increasing taxes every day - buttons?  noooo:

Drinking with a Cypriot mate of mine the other day in Peyia. He spoke to a chap on the table next to us who werks for a bank (1st letter of the Greek alphabet), Petros asks him how are things going. The chap replies "About 1 month before the whole thing closes down"  eeek: eeek:

Spoke to a big taxi firm here and cash only George.....both said they have not banked hardly any money ...not because they don't trust the banks ..because they haven't earn't enough ...got 3 months left to bank enough money to survive the winter...... noooo:
