Just incase anyone is interested I have copied this from a facebook page called Cyprus Robbing your bank account

PLEASE BE INFORMED that today, Tuesday 19th March at 5:30pm, the Paphos people will be joining hands outside the Town Hall to protest against the TROIKA - please pass on this message!

If you don't want to join hands - you may want to avoid the area.

Hardly a riot....... rubschin:

Ta, have already posted back there that either his source has had too much Retsina or someone is a lying arse

Just about the last thing you need right now is lies like that putting of tourists

On another angle this is an interesting read esp the balance sheet on page 5 and then notes 5 and 11.  Anyone reading that then put any serious money in a Cyprus bank would be certifiable esp after on Feb 28th they announced they were unable to publish their compulsory account filing.

Well, whatever, nevermind

Didn't you/Miss T mention a mate that scarpered left Cyprus all of a sudden last week.  Didn't happen to empty out his bank account first did he?
Well, whatever, nevermind

From your Shit on other Forums Correspondent:

Someone posted elsewhere (no not that elsewhere) that "there have been riots in Cyprus that make the Greek riots look like a picnic"

Any observations you'd like me to convey?  Other than he's lying his arse off obviously

No riots....  noooo:

Yes it's interesting that your Nicos Aniseedballsup (or whatever your part time president is called) decided against taxing property and share holdings or anything more than 10% on riches

Couldn't be connected to his €2.3 Million personal fortune could it?   Course not  ;)

Statement by the Government Spokesman Mr Christos Stylianides
19/03/2013

The President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, is continuing intensive deliberations with and briefing of Heads of States and European Officials regarding the climate that has been created after the Eurogroup decision of last week and in view of the expected meeting of the House of Representatives this evening.

Last night the President had a telephone conversation with the German Chancellor Mrs Merkel whom he briefed about the current situation in Cyprus. The President informed the Chancellor that the possibility was considered to cut the loan needs through Cypriot funds.

The President of the Republic is expected to have another conversation with Mrs Merkel today and he will continue his contacts with other leaders as well.

Meanwhile the Finance Minister, Mr Michalis Sarris, is leaving for Moscow today where he will meet with his Russian counterpart Mr Anton Siluanov.
