From Monday the banks here will open till 2 30 pm Mon=Thurs...more lie-ins.. 
And the post office till 3pm....

What hours did they used to open?
It is a bit of a sore point in our village...
Postman is supposed to be there from 08:30 to 13:00 Monday through Friday...
...but at some point a man comes from Limassol to deliver the village post to the village (post lands at Larnaca, is sorted into districts then to Limassol post office then to us).... For reasons nobody understands he doesn't bring the post to the post office, the postman has to close the post office and go and meet the guy on the Motorway...
So, you can pretty much guarantee that whenever you go to the post office it is closed!

Post offices as such are disappearing fast here, you get a counter in convenience store and it works very well. Really convenient to robbers, in one stop they can pick up a bottle or two to celebrate.
We have one postman for the whole village...
He has to collect it all (on the moped that he provides), sort it and put it into all of the PO boxes...
...this is at the same time as he offers a 'counter service' selling stamps, registering post and getting us to sign for our parcels...
...once he closes at 1pm he has to go out on his moped and deliver the post all around the village to anybody that hasn't got a PO box.
The old postman used to just chuck anything in the bin that wasn't addressed to a PO Box... He had a good point actually, most houses don't have a letterbox so the new postman just chucks it over the fence where it gets blown away or destroyed by the weather anyway....
