Mrs K has announced that she prefers Vegemite.  Should I indulge her or secretly substitute the real stuff?
Well, whatever, nevermind

It's OK and I can't always tell the difference in blind tests.  Slightly sweeter, creamier and less dark brown than the real stuff.

Also cheaper last week at Tescos so I said OK then.  I still have my jar of Marmite XO (aka the hard stuff) though
Well, whatever, nevermind

Dunno about Gold but here is XO from the gospel according to St Wiki
:
Quote
On 8 March 2010 Unilever released a specially-brewed extra-strong version of the spread called "Marmite XO", "XO" mimicking a grade of brandy known as Extra Old. Quotes from back of the jar include 'Marmite XO Extra Old' and 'Using four specially selected yeast sources, our master blender has crafted the secret Marmite recipe and matured it four times longer to create a Marmite so strong and full bodied it can only be for the most devoted of lovers'

Well, whatever, nevermind

Stevie Lad?  eeek:  I will have to consult my Observer's book of Insults for suitable reposte

I got a jar of XO as a make up leaving pressie when I left work last year.  For a long while I'd been winding up the boss (good guy) by taking marmite to the egg and bacon roll fuelled monthy meetings so twas a laugh.

Seems its days may be numbered.  Tesco now say "not available".  Amazon want £7.50 for it but posh store Waitrose say £4 for 250g

I wish they'd bring back Guinness Marmite - that were grand
Well, whatever, nevermind
