You were lucky

I had two and yes quirky but feature rich and great for long distances

If yours were good I must have had a Vendredi afternoon one.  Air con leaked, it would self unlock at random setting the alarm off, would not start unless the wet string connected to the starter motor was damp but it finally got the red card when it decided to randomly set a 4000 rev limit when overtaking on country roads.  Merde, merde, merde I exclaimed or something like it.
Well, whatever, nevermind

The 'best' BX moment was outside a hotel sur le continent.

Had to park elsewhere and the hotel said don't worry, just stop in the police car bay when you want to pick your bags up.  So we did, went in and came out to see les Rozzers waiting for THEIR place.  And would the bastard car start?  Non.  So I got out my trusty hot wire, bypassed the wet string and hey presto we was up and going.  All in sight of les Rozzers

Whatever you've heard of French police, Luxembourg police are the best.
Well, whatever, nevermind

I had 3 Citroens, the last was the Xantia Activa, the best handling saloon car I have ever driven.  Just painted on the road with that trick soft as butter but 0o roll active suspension.
