Yet on big numbers we say one five seven instead of one hundred and fifty seven - which is logical.

Around here one bus is referred to as a two eighty.

Rest are called by their 3 number bit such as two one three.

There again I use the X26 to go to work.

why when a number such as 102 do we pronounce the 0 as oh? It is a number not a letter.

On a related subject: Why do people call it a "slash" when it is in fact an oblique?
My kids are forever doing this as in "and/or" which comes out as "and slash or".
Or when phoning in response to a letter I am asked for the reference number I say "Six, Two, Oblique, Three, Five, Seven" and the dozy bint at the other end says " You Whaaaat?"  Banghead
