Update:

I've had a transcript of the email exchanges between the dealer and Ford progress. They are still saying that it's the Stop Start function that necessitated the recall. last message from them:

"The concern was not with the Start Stop Button but the Start Stop Function which is on all of the Eco-Boost B-Max vehicles.
When your vehicle is idling at a standstill, the engine automatically shuts down to save on fuel consumption. When you want to drive off, the engine immediately restarts."

Not what it says in the brochure.

Asked again for clarification.

Meanwhile, vehicle is still shown on tracking as 'compounded'

 Banghead

 noooo:   refund time...........

As to telling them to stuff it, how exactly does that work in me getting a new car?

Oh lighten up yu grumpy owld buzzard. lol:

If it's in the UK, then all well and good. Tell 'em to send an employee or someone with a trailer to go and collect it from the compound if possible.

If it's still abroad though, well that's a different barrel of fish. rubschin:

Plenty of other ways and means of obtaining the car that you want.

These have got quite a good reputaion apparently:
