Someone rang my doorbell yesterday. Naturally, I ignored it.  Later I found a card telling me that someone had called from the council to verify that I lived alone (Council Tax discount)

I called the number and asked how I could prove this. "They may want to see your bedroom" 

Since my council is about the only one in the country whcih refuses to publish its accounts online  I asked whether the caller would come prepared to tell me how they waste spend my fooking tax. Oh noes.

Let battle commence.
