Breast feeding on trains
« on: May 06, 2008, 07:06:03 PM »
Is it ok?  confused:

On the delightful, clean and prompt Chiltern line today... suddenly African village life comes alive... baring of breasts and feeding of infants.

The others either closed their eyes, buried their attention into their laptops or, as elderly Mums, smiled sweetly  eeek:

Oh... middle England  surrender:

I think if it can be managed with discretion then fine. But this whole flopping out the breast in full view is something that makes my blood boil. Especially on public transport/aeroplanes. I don't want your less than pert veiny boob brushing up against my arm and dangling in my dinner thank-you very much!  cussing:

Both my wives have managed to breast feed with discretion. It is not difficult, it simply requires a degree of modesty. Unfortunately Germaine Greer and co have created a feeling among some wimmin that "We have nothing to be ashamed of". Certainly there is no shame in giving your child what is acknowledged as the best possible start in life (pity you didn't consider that aspect when you selected the gormless, spotty individual that is the father but that is another moan for another day) but feminine modesty instead of the defiant flaunting that seems to be the fashion would be much appreciated.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

I think the others were just talking about feeding babies.
