So...the old clutch was a little bit grabby on the Triumph. No problem, thought I, oil it.  As I'm sure you're aware, it is quite difficult to really get the oil down a cable, so I sought advice from my classic-bike owning neighbour.

He told of a contraption that attaches to the top of the cable and allows you so inject oil thus allowing decent oiling. He told me they only cost about a tenner "look it up on the internet, it's called a Lube Tube or something like that". So I Googled  eeek:

Perhaps I shouldn't trust these older folk anymore...

Cable Oiler. This is the product we use in the work shop, very easy and quick, clamps round cable and allows pressure oiling using WD40 or similar. Cleaning and lubricating cables is always going to be a messy job. When you use this there is some leakage of WD40 around the cable, but this is still the best way to service cables. Because the tool allows pressure oiling the dirt is forced out at the same time as the lubricant is forced in.

Running like a dream now  cloud9:, but both it and I are now covered in nasty old oil.

I am reminded of a tale from the 60's when "Tritons" (best of both, Triumph engine and Norton chassis) were very fashionable.

The eldest boy had a chum who came round on one and it fell over on the gravel and cracked a casting with the footrest and leaked like a stuck pig.

Being a kind chap, we put it on the trailer and took it to the local motorbike repair place.

The mechanic came out to look at the damaged Triton, only to fall about laughing and break the news to the lad that his pride and joy, bought for 50 from a man on a caravan site, was actually a "Norumph" made from the dodgy leftovers of a Triton genesis.  whistle:

Ah! You cook and SHE decides she needs a new cooker  rubschin:

Yes. Because it "looks a lot nicer" than the old one we have.  ::)

It's a Zanussi, Growler.

That's ok then. Just checkin' that you hadn't been sucked into slick sales talk like Mrs Growler was 3 years ago. ::)

After purchasing the cooker, we then drove all the bloody way to Gerrys of Wimbledon as Mrs TMR (to be) has decided she wants her own set of darts. She wants to challenge me in the annual pub competition. Me, the reigning champ, I ask you... ::)

I suspect there will be some foul play as this unfolds.

Don't think I will ever be able to throw a dart properly again while I am taking these statins - it hurts!

20mg.

Was halved from 40 but not much difference.

I carried 6 75ltr sacks of compost on saturday and my arms still hurt.

Trying to play darts is murder.

I'm sure I have said this before but some people do get this problem with statins.

I take only Simvastatin 10mg + Ezetimibe 10mg daily and I have had no further muscle pain since dropping from 40 mg Simvastatin. Tried other statins and they were also a problem.

Have a word with your cardiologist. No point in taking medication where the side effects make life unpleasant ~ fortunately my Cardio man believes, as I do, that quality of life is more important than a mythical quantity of life that they cannot guarantee.

Also since stopping the "aggressive" treatment my cholesterol levels have dropped dramatically ~ work that one out because the hospital can't.
