I had to read this twice before I could believe it:- prisoners in a Nottinghamshire jail getting a ?2 bonus for "good behaviour" during the Prison Office strike.

I?m just reading Jeffrey Archer?s prison diaries.

You can raise your urine to even higher temperatures with the knowledge that most of them will spend their two quid bonus on the drugs that are freely available inside.

The wardens can?t carry out thorough searches of the prisoners or their visitors because of the human rights act see?

Bloody typical!  They won't give the money to the Warders because they say they can't afford it, but they are quite happy to give it to the offenders instead.

Here's an idea.  Get the prisoners to sign a good behaviour contract  ::)  And do away with the guards altogether.

They can phone a central control office in India to report in from time to time.

Actually we did that with a lot of French POWs during the Napoleonic Wars and many stayed afterwards. There are many families in and around Sussex who are descendants of these Prisoners. Apparently few "Broke their Bond".

FFS they're in prison for being delinquents, no playstations, no pool tables, no financial rewards.  Hard graft and respect for their warders should be the minimum expected, an hours sunlight a day a distinct privilege!
