Title: On being back at skool
Post by: Nick on September 15, 2014, 02:30:29 PM
I am liking this!  The main library has a coffee shop with sofas and stuff so I can read with my feet up and get brought coffee while doing so. Nice campus. Lots of totty with hordes more arriving next week for Freshers' Week (where I plan to join the Gliding Club). What can possibly go wrong?

Don't think that's quite what they mean by the phrase 'crashing at the student dorm'  noooo:

Is it not enough you have already burnt down half the place with demolishing the other half.

I thought hand gliding meant something else where you were concerned anyway  whistle:

So do we now call you the Silver Shambles?  whistle:

Anyhoo, been back at college this week for a training course. Haven't been on this site since I was a teenager and as it has had a load of work done since (and boy did it need it, the polite description of the place back then would have been a rancid, decrepit shithole). The 'temporary' portacabin where I had most of my lessons back in the day is still there and looking worse than ever though, walking past it today I was half convinced a billious fart would knock it down.  noooo:

There are 10 of us on the course and most of us have meshed pretty well, apart from the one obligatory fuckwit  noooo: irritating tossmonger  rubschin:  noooo: moronic gobshite  rubschin:  noooo: rabid motormouthed Guiness Book of Bullshit spouting pissweasle  rubschin:  (must remember to thank whoever it was came up with that term in twitter) who has managed to at least irritate if not completely piss off everyone else in the room every feckin day  Banghead Tomorrow is the last day and I'm curious to see if anything happens to him.  eveilgrin:

I do feel a bit sorry for the tutors (not too sorry though their sense of humour has been as warped as ours), someone  angel1 happened to mention that tomorrow is International Talk Like a Pirate Day and judging from the grins on the rest of the group I can predict most of tomorrow being filled with "arrr capt'n" and so on.  lol:

To be honest, if it was a choice between Nick and Captain Pissweasle then I'd rather have the Ginger Shambles in the class with us.  lol:

Nick may be a walking disaster area but he certainly isn't an arrogant, 'thinks he knows it all' twwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwat (pardon the language but while I am by no means a violent person this kid has managed to hack me off to the point where he just looks so punchable, by 9.30 each feckin day. Unfortunately I'm stuck in the same room as him till 4.30  Banghead ). Plus he is nuts enough to fit in well with the rest of the group.

Miracles do happen, I've managed the entire week without giving into the urge to lamp Cap'n Pissweasle although it could have been a close thing a couple of times today.

Think we managed to traumatise the new teaching assistant this afternoon. Poor kid was brought into our group to observe for the last hour or so and ended up being completely confused watching a lesson being taken in pirate as we even managed to get the trainer to join in (she took to the whole tihing scarily well. I wouldn't have been surprised if she had gone looking for a cat of nine tails during lunch).  lol:
