As started in the Good Morning thread
I haven't decided how to vote, here is my summary of the parties positions
UKIP: we want out, we haven't a clue what we'd then do. We find numbers difficult
Libs: we will stay in and threaten to stay in to make the EU change
Cons: we completely disagree with ourselves but we'd definitely like you to tell us in 3 years time
Lab: we wish the election wasn't happening as we don't know why we want to stay in
BNP: we want out and we will then annex the Sudetenland
Green: we want more windymills
Scottish Nats: Och ye cannae vote for us you daft sassenanch.
Plaid Cymru: see Scots Nats but with a few FFFs and LLLs thrown in
The Vote Match site (http://wal.votematch.eu/#/intro) says I should either vote Green or BNP - FFS how did they get to that?
So . . . . .

UKIP! Thumbs:
If for no other reason than the other three have had their chance and completely fucked it all up every time...
-
They have?
A small logistically disadvantaged nation bats in the top ten in the world hardly shows they have done that bad over the years.

Decision made then! Thumbs:
Vote for one of the big three that have made such a success of the place! Flip a coin, they're all the same...

This is not really helping is it?

No, shall I lock the thread...?

Why
Someone might actually have an argument that is persuasive
I thought it was compulsory to vote in Cyprus

Interesting point...
It is theoretically compulsory to vote in Cyprus...
...but EU rules overrule national rules so Cyprus law cannot be enforced.... ::)
As for me, after 12 years I am still considered to be an 'Alien' and have to have 'papers' to live here (and prove self sufficiency, medical insurance, etc.). As such, I am allowed to vote in local village elections only....
-
Does that mean if UKIP get in you are allowed to stay?
-
Does that mean if UKIP get in you are allowed to stay?
I see no reason why they would throw me out.... whistle:

Even if they wanted to it's not like the Cyprus gubberment could actually work out how to do it judging by the fiascoes various of the last years, decades, centuries . . . .

Only if they wanted to destroy the housing and second-hand car markets over night.... not to mention most of the restaurants and bars....
Oh, wait.... rubschin:

Nah! The way he does numbers it's not like he'd miss my vote or a hundred thousand of them
Here was my logic, argue against it if you like but the vote is cast.
The EU needs at a minimum change but we shouldn't just commit to leave before any renegotiations. That excluded UKIP and quickly the Libs as they won't be able to negotiate using a threat to stay in. Labour have no policy on the EU and their awful political broadcast was just so wrong. BNP only want out of Europe so they can legalise persecution and the Scots and Welsh Nats weren't standing here. The Greens want more windmills, cyclists and to ban my car. The other fringe parties are just a wasted vote. So that left me with for all its faults what is the only party committed to what the UK really needs: an informed In/Out referendum. Even if that odious prick Hannan is #1 on their list.

Just heard John Pugh claiming that it was undeserved that a large portion of the electorate was not listening to Nick Clegg and that it was partly the fault of the media. noooo:

There's a good chance that in a few months time people will say "Nick Clegg? Who's he?"
Probably a great guy to have as a next door neighbour in a profession that needs leaders
