I've been keeping an eye on it for some time...
It shows that at the moment, out of the ~40GW of total power being consumed by the UK, all those thousands of on-shore and off-shire bird mincers are producing just 1.3GW... noooo:

At 11am (5 mins ago), total load was 717MW of which all those fucking bird mincers produced just 10MW (1.3%).... Banghead

Bet a sizeable chunk of that is air conditioners

I can't find the article, but I read one recently that the number of turbines in Scotland had doubled in the last few years but the amount of power produced by wind up there had only increased by 17% over the same period. rubschin:

It is criminal what they have done totally wrecked beautiful scenery with those monstrosities ... Driving up the M74 all you can see are those things covering the hills in all directions where the rolling green hills were a lovely welcome to Scotland now it is just an eyesore... angry041: It breaks my heart every time I go up to my mums too see them I hate them with passion.... evil:

And at the same time the government pulls the funding from the Hot Rocks geoethermal energy project in Cornwall after bollixing up the tariffs so their partners decided to reinvest in Europe instead. cussing:
I'm just waiting to see if they try to pull a similar stunt with the tidal energy project down here as well.
