Balls’ SpAd Outed Alan Johnson’s “Personal Reasons”

Alan Johnson’s suspected affair with a civil servant was widely rumoured around Westminster, it was the reason that people believed that he had not run for leader. The story was kept out of the papers – until now.

This evening Guido sources are pointing the finger at Alex Belardinelli, Special Adviser to Ed Balls, as the person who has been making inquiries into Alan Johnson’s private life. Shadow Cabinet sources say they believe the Sunday Times has the story and Ed Miliband himself believes that Ed Balls’ people have had a hand in the story getting out. Balls chose his moment well, a series of gaffes by Alan Johnson had left him politically weakened.  Yet still Miliband rewarded him with the prize he craved…

I have to admit, when I first heard about the protection officer my reaction was short of nicking a gorilla from the local zoo, immacing it and shoving some clothes on it wouldnt have been that difficult to find an officer better looking that Johnson.

Dai Davies, former head of Scotland Yard's Royalty Protection Squad, told the Daily Mail Mr Johnson would likely have been "completely humiliated" by the episode, saying it was akin to a footman having an affair with a member of the royal family.

Oh hardly a comparison ~ he may have been Home Sec for a short time but an ex postie's second wife is not on a par with Royalty. 
Anywhoo the Royals have been at it with their servants for centuries. In fact had they not it is doubtful than many of our past Kings and Queens would have been born.
