Stupid bastard Royal Mail
« on: December 17, 2010, 12:09:21 PM »
So they missed the boat with e mail, innit? Now they seem to have failed to understand that:

a) It's Christmas
b) Most people are shopping online

which means vastly increased parcel traffic. FOUR MILLION PARCEL BACKLOG  cussing: cussing: cussing: cussing:

The stuff I ordered for the Boy has failed to materialise whilst I wait in day after day for a delivery. Meanwhile, when I was in the twats left a card to say I was out   cussing: when they delivered the mackerel which Pastis had kindly sent me so it is still rotting languishing in the virtually inaccessible sorting office  cussing: cussing: cussing:

Someone I know opened the door to the postman the other day - he was putting a "Sorry you were out and we couldn't deliver your parcel" card through the letterbox. When challenged he admitted he didn't even have the parcel with him... what is the freaking point of that? Shrugs:

Don't blame the Royal Mail ... all courier companies are saying they are running up to two weeks behind with deliveries. Most Amazon deliveries are via courier companies and only get handed to the Royal Mail for the "final mile".
I had stuff that Amazon say they handed to couriers three weeks ago. The couriers denied this up until yesterday morning when they delivered it. This morning the courier's tracking system showed the items were still in their Swansea depot.

As for the Royal Mail ... most of their staff are doing a decent job but "Policies" and the starvation of cash by successive governments taking their profits over the years have prevented investment and fucked the system.

For example Post collected from here is transported to Chester to be sorted, returned to Rhyl to be resorted and delivered. Chester can't manage so the surplus is sent to Liverpool who in turn send their surplus to Glasgow. All that to send a card to someone else in the same village? This madness comes about in the name of "rationalisation" that resulted in the closure of local sorting offices. There are villages around here where the last collection of the day is 9.30 am yet the delivery postie, who used to empty the village boxes after his round, still walks/drives past the box but doesn't have the keys to open it ..... just so they can hit their "targets" to transport even local mail miles around the UK before trying to deliver it back to the same village the next day.

I could go on but you get the picture. The fault lies with Government interference in what was once a reliable service.

27+ phone calls & four attempts to get a parcel delivered, only succeded when I got the address changed to that of my work.
Saddler was in all day on every date the postman aleegedly tried to deliver it & at no stage did he hear any knock on the door.
I couldn't ask for better friends. I could ask for more NORMAL friends, but not better ones.

I have been waiting for something to arrive for ages in the post, the tracking details state it is in the depot where it has been for the last 2 weeks. I had an email today to say that it had been 'lost' . That'll be right , lost eh  Banghead  Banghead Banghead
