I've just put the phone down on an acquaintance I haven't spoken to in years  whacky115

"Just thought I'd call to wish you a Happy Christmas .... etc... ". Whaddya say? I was quite tempted to make stuff up...

"How am I doing? Well, it's been a funny few years; the porn business has been doing well but we got busted in Guatemala which dented our profits... that and paying the alimony to my sixth wife.... No, she was Vietnamese... a good cook but very needy ... and how are you?"

There'll be a few more tomorrow I have no doubt ...  noooo:

A very Happy Christmas to you all.

It has been another fun year in the VP and I have very much enjoyed myself in your company.

I have done all my chores and am now going to check out some fine malt in preparation for the visiting hoards tomorrow.

I mostly despair

Not at all   redface: ...just generally people that ring you out of the blue, after a long time, generally want something or need to get something of their chest. Wasn't asking for details - just confirmation if this was the case
