While I doubt that this will ever happen it's certainly an interesting situation, if a little simplified by CNN. The rural residents aren't 'fed up with living under Democratic control of their state government', they are however fed up with increasing laws and state legislature that are more geared towards the urban centres such as Portland which negatively affect them.
