Citroën C3 Picasso
« on: March 27, 2009, 08:39:25 PM »
I saw an advert for the new Citroën C3 Picasso and thought "that looks good" so I logged on their site and ordered the brochure.

Received a retail price list from them today ~ no mention of a C3 Picasso anywhere.  ::)

Anyway, I'm thinking of trading in my Ford Fusion and it looks like the perfect replacement, I did check out the C3 when I was last looking but it was a bit small.

Any opinions? (probably aimed at Growler)

Yes. A fine and funky looking car. Your nippers would probably love it.
The C3 is due for replacement soon, so I wouldn't go down that road.

Citroen are really getting their act together on the design front, and reliabilty is getting better now too.

Couple of others in the same 'mould' :

Had a look in that new Kia Soul today whilst waiting for a cheque, but wasn't overly impressed with the quality of the interior. Just my feelings though.

Skoda have got the new Yeti coming out in September. That looks very good too.

Let us know what you decide on as I'm always interested in this stuff.

CSMA Magazine have reviewed it this month. They reckon it's a good drive but over priced as the Xsara Picasso can be bought for £3k less. ~ They question why Citroen have bothered although they do conceed it has a better finish.

Went down to the Citroën dealer this morning, had a look and was very impressed.

Dealer was talking about a price increase. I guess they feel that a new model can carry a premium.

Now, can I justify buying a new car.  rubschin:

Since most dealers can barely give their cars away ~ or so they would have us believe ~ you should be able to get a good deal if you look around.

That's what I figure, use the dealer to work out exactly what specs I want then shop around.

Sorry confused memory banks here. I have read the review that Growler put up and mixed it up with the one I read in the CSMA Magazine.

The Citroën C3 Pluriel, from £13595, has four seats and an innovative folding fabric roof. But there are issues with build quality, the driving experience and the complexity of rearranging that all-too-clever roof".

Best advice, Try it, if you like it and can get a decent discount buy it, if no to either condition then look some more.

Did those pictures originally have the title: -

"From £4,995"

"Model shown is GTi XTCRW with optional extras and metallic paint - £25,976.37"

The Pluriel is the biggest heap of cack ever made for the public highway, and that comes from the Citroen techies not me. OK, from me as well then.

DO NOT PURCHASE, unless you have no problem with getting soaked constantly and can actually fathom out how to use and wrestle with the removable roof.

The techies 'fix' from Citroen HQ for the never ending complaints regarding the leaks, was to smear vaseline on all the joints. happy001

It's fortunate I'm not considering buying a Citroën C3 Pluriel then.

Best looking car in its class imo, and all the different reviews I've read reckon it's pretty damned good. Think you'll struggle getting much discount initially though tbh...being a new model like.
12-15 k apparently.

The Berlingo Multispace is quite a good buy too, and similar in many ways.

You decide what you like the best though.
