DS. You CAN pay a variable amount each month to clear all outstanding debt on the card, thus attracting zero intrest.
S/O or D/D I can't remember 100%...D/D though iirc.

I know this for fact, as we use a Tesco c/c to buy all our stuff including the weekly shop, (and attract and accrue Tesco points as a consequence to purchase a 'free' trip with Eurotunnel last May) and religiously pay it all off at the end of each month.
If you can hold your hand on your heart and state quite catergorically and honestly to yourself that this is how you will operate your card, you can only be in a win situtation. cloud9:

I take the point that many get sucked into these cards and offers, only to come badly unstuck when the temptation to over spend creeps in, with the consequential battering of the APR.

Shop anywhere you want Snoops. Still attract points onto the card regardless, and providing you aren't spending the points regular like, it mounts up to pay for some quite worthwhile purchases like it did for me 6 months ago. cloud9:

Indeed you can Growler.

Sorry I didn't mean to disparage you by my previous remark. You obviously have the disipline necessary. It's a shame that so many others don't have either the disipline or financial acumen.

Link to those interested anyway.

www.citibank.co.uk/shellcard

I know I'm not the brightest bulb in the chandalier, but I do try and seek out little ways and means of trying to 'beat the system', but discipline IS the key.
Obviously the c/c companies don't want to here that though, and would prefer 'nuggets' on their database, of which there are plenty, which is exactly how they recoup their costs from tight arses like me! lol:

Can highly recommend the Teso card too btw, for those 'liitle extras' in life as I found out in May. cloud9:

So many offers and bargains providing you stick with the BIG D werd!
If you can't, forget it.

Christ, I sound like Martin Lewis here! lol:

Personally I don't do credit cards.

I do know a number of fuel suppliers have their own fuel purchase cards which give an amount of credit but you can only use them at the designated filling stations was the point I was making. You cannot, for example , use a Shell Fuel card (intended for fleet users) at Tesco or Asda if the supermarket fuel happens to be cheaper. If what you are after is a Credit Card that gives "rewards" you will then have many to chose from and they all cost a lot more in interest if you miss a payment by a even day than others that do not offer gifts/cash back deals etc.

1% cash back to accrue on your card regardless of where you fill up Snoops.
Just so happens I've got a glut of Shell staions around here, and the supermarket outlets are no cheaper. Not too sure about supermarket fuel quality either though tbh. rubschin:

Email just came in ~ I get an update weekly.

You will see it is pretty variable

Suoermarket fuel does not provide the same mileage as "Brands" ~ See CSMA magazine debate passim.

And I still don't do credit cards.

My NatWest Visa card used to give me Airmile points. But they then decided to run their own scheme and charge a fee to administer it. Naturally I declined and now hardly ever use the the card. As I always paid off the card each month I don't suppose they were that bothered.

I now use a debit card on my current account. If I haven't got it I can't spend it.

All ready did ~ not that it matters much as it applies to half the High Street ~ 50 buildings to be exact.
The village is well known anyway.

Exactly ~ Debit card or cash ~ gives me bargaining power  eveilgrin:

EG Local Heating Oil Company (cheapest for miles) charges an additional £3.51 for an order placed using a credit card but there is no surcharge for a debit card ~ and they ain't the only ones.

OK. We / I sometimes/regulary forget that we AREN'T actually just talking amongst ourselves here. hence the reason for my reluctance (very sadly) to not disclose my web site addy publicly with  the location, phone numbers email addys etc. details held within.
Bloody shame that we're all have to be so so untrusting now. noooo:
Unfortunately though, there are many arse wipes out there that could give you a really hard time if they got hold of such info. evil:

It is a shame but really is just good sense. In the old days you wouldn't have taken out a full page spread in a magazine giving out your personal details so why would you do it on the web? Although I suppose we do forget that here it isn't just us and that the walls have eyes!  scared2:
